Lady Haig’s Poppy Factory now receives many requests for bespoke items that are suitable for school battlefield tours and our W2 Poppy Wreath and Badged Cross are very popular and can be personalised with a school logo.
Often prior to embarking on a tour the pupils will have researched the casualties from their local area and where they are buried/commemorated so they can visit their resting place and pay their respects and perhaps leave a token of remembrance. Space can often be very limited during travelling and so our badged cross with the school’s logo, poppy cross, humanist symbol or various remembrance symbols allow pupils to leave a fitting tribute which in turn can help to make a lasting memory.
As part of their tour and ongoing school projects some pupils are asked to imagine what it may have been like to be a soldier on the battlefield and to write a letter home. Our postcards depicting a painting by the pupils of Edinburgh Academy entitled ‘Remember’ would allow pupils to write a note home that can either be posted or kept as a souvenir of their trip.
Our bespoke products allow a token of remembrance to be tailored individually to each battlefield tour and can help to enhance the learning experience for every pupil, including the knowledge that all our poppy products are hand assembled here at Lady Haig’s Poppy Factory by our disabled veterans.
