COVID-19 UPDATE In response to the Prime Minister's and First Minister's address to the nation last night the LHPF have closed down for the next 3 weeks. We will review the situation on or around 14th April. During this period we will not be able to accommodate any orders for wreaths or other items. Our workforce of disabled ex-servicemen and women have shown great fortitude and many will continue to manufacture poppies from home during this difficult time. We hope to be back soon and will keep you appraised of progress. We wish everybody good luck as we fight and defeat this unseen enemy! Remember 'Come together by staying apart'!

Factory Refurbishment Update No. 5

FACTORY REFURBISHMENT

The factory refurbishment is on-going and we have now been operating from our temporary home at Redford Barracks, Building 72, Colinton Road, Edinburgh for approx. 14 months.  We continue to work towards delivering all items required by Poppyscotland. Our poppy production for Appeal ’20 and our wreath selling activity is on-going.  For the duration of our time at Redford Barracks we will not be able to receive visitors or customers, as we are ‘behind the wire’ on a military base.  Due to the current COVID-19 crisis some of our more vulnerable workers have now undertaken to make poppies and wreaths from home.

Our on-line shop, contact details, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses remain unchanged and we continue to dispatch orders within 48 hrs of receipt (subject to change without prior notice).  For Appeal ’19 we opened a ‘Pop-up’ shop.  This was situated at Logie Green Road (car park entrance to factory).  It proved very successful and we will do this again for Appeal ’20.  We will advertise details nearer the time.

Meanwhile the factory refurbishment work on our permanent site continues.

The asbestos has now been removed and the roof replacement is nearing completion.   The remainder of the works will commence in May.  We plan to have the project completed by the end of 2020.  We will deliver Poppy Appeal ’20 from Redford Barracks.  We intend to be fully operational and back at Warriston Road/Logie Green road by early 2021.

This large crane was on site last week and velux windows, which cover the factory workshop, were fitted by B&D Roofing Ltd under the watchful eye of staff from Natural Daylight Solutions Ltd.
