Allied Forces Landed on The Beaches of Normany on 6th June 1944


On 6th June 1944 allied troops landed on the coast of Normandy.  This was the largest combined naval, air and land operation in the history of warfare. 6th June 2019 will mark 75 years since the D-Day Landings and to mark this anniversary Lady Haig’s Poppy Factory have designed a bespoke poppy wreath to commemorate the event. The Royal British Legion Scotland in partnership with the French Embassy will hold a service of thanks for D-Day and Normandy Veterans on Thursday 6th June at Parliament Square, Edinburgh. The service will take place at 11am.
