Tours

First Minister Alex Salmond visiting the factoryThe factory is open to the public from 9am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 12noon on Friday, and we are always delighted to arrange either informal or formal tours of the factory. Tours are free, but as a registered charity, we do encourage visitors to make a donation after their visit.

Formal tours last around two hours and typically include a short presentation on the history of the poppy, information about our founder, Lady Haig and some background on the factory itself.  Visitors are then shown each element in the poppy production process and also gain an insight into how more than five million poppies, 10,000 wreaths and 26,000 collection tins are distributed across Scotland in time for Remembrance Sunday each November.

Visitors can even make their own poppy!

More visitors to the factoryThe factory staff are always delighted to welcome visitors and will happily answer any questions you may have during the tour.

We welcome hundreds of individuals and groups to the factory throughout the year.  We are especially pleased to host school groups, many who incorporate a visit into their work on the Poppyscotland education programme.

While we are happy to welcome guests at any time, to get a full tour of the factory we advise that you contact us in advance to make a booking.
